Not What They Use To Be

I buy these to use in my custom burp clothes. The quality just keeps going down hill as the price goes up! These last ones I purchased were made in China. They shrunk to almost half of the original size after one washing. The center padding twisted and scrunched up and the ends came unraveled. I wrote to Gerber to express my unhappiness with the quality. We'll see if it makes a difference. The problem is finding an economical replacement. It seems that ToysRus and some of the other store brands are this exact China made diaper with the store's name on it.

Very cheaply made

The last time I bought Birdseye diapers was 16 years ago for my oldest grandson. They were thick, soft, and well made. I just bought the ones shown above. They are just plain crap! They don't even feel like they are made of cotton! They are flimsy, stiff, scratchy, and the workmanship is horrible. I would not use these diapers on a dog, let alone a baby! I am totally disgusted with this product and am sending it back.

what I was looking for

I use these to make burp cloths by adding a layer of printed flannel. I wanted the kind without the thick poly padding. These are thin and just made from prefolded birdseye fabric. They would make terrible diapers but they are perfect for my purposes!They did shrink/quilt up slightly when washed as I expect any cotton diapers to do. (I actually cloth diaper as well but use higher quality prefolds sold in on-line diaper shops for that purpose.) I haven't had any serging unravel either.
